Nah Chan, "Place of the Serpent," is the traditional name
of Palenque, seat of Pacal Votan's prophetic cycle, indicating this site as
a place of wisdom. When the serpent flies, this wisdom is liberated. This
is the underlying meaning of Kukulkan or Quetzalcoatl, the plumed serpent,
which is also connected with the release of Kundalini in Vedic yoga
traditions. Hence, Quetzalcoatl represents the kundalini of prophetic
realization.
