What’s moving you?

Welcome board Bio Farm St Blaise - owner Maurice Meyer

There once was an organic farmer who in the midst of his fields happen to have a thought bubbling up. It was a very simple but powerful one.

He was aware that so many farmers out there are doing their work with increasing concern for the wellbeing of the earth and its inhabitants, and that many had chosen -as he did- to cultivate organic, bio- and biodynamic food.
He was in contact with several of such people and exchanged with some of them in his region on a material level.

So the thought he had sounded more or less as follows :
"What if I just went out to visit some of these organic farmers worlwide to ask them what really moves them?" - that is: "what was behind their choice, why did they do it; and what would be their message for the world?".

An immaterial exchange which could be recorded on video, to then publish it into a documentary film and also on the net. Just to exchange and inspire...

He contacted a friend - cameraman... arrange for his farm to continue for a while without him, and off they went ! ...

The farmer actually exists.
I met him recently during our family holiday in Alsace, France. His name is Maurice Meyer and he went twice to South-Africa already to start realizing this thought. Next on the agenda are Brazil, but also some European countries.

His publishing has started on an internet blog, where several short documentaries can be seen, both in English and French.

Really fresh and inspiring food - Just as an exemple I've added a sample one hereunder !

Introspection, brains and consciousness

Specific Brain Region Linked to Introspective Thoughts

A friend sent me this link earlier this week: it concerns an article on a study , explaining how the location for higher functions of the brain, like introversion , is behind the eyes.

Everyone knows this location actually, as it is symbolized by Indian women wearing the 'tilak', a small painted dot in the middle of the forehead, pinpointing to the same location (although the tilak now generally is used either aesthetically or to indicate a married status eg).

So, great to see that Science now also gets interest in the location of the 'Third Eye'.
But, as stated the article, Science is still in darkness as to what exactly triggers off the use of those precise regions...

Veggie Day Celebration in GentC

one year veggie day in Gent

EVA, the 'Ethical Vegetarian Association' in Gent, Belgium, has successfully promoted the campaign to take up a vegetarian diet for at least one day a week -
on Thursday. The local authorities have been endorsing the project, making Gent one of the first, if not the first city in the world to officially endorse the one vegetarian day a week.

The project celebrates it's one year anniversary this week, and launched a video on YouTube under the slogan:

The power of the summit

If we'll remember one thing from the month of December 2009, then it's likely to be Copenhagen Summit in Denmark on environmental issues. If not because of it's size, it's worldwide media coverage, it's political impact or lack of impact and it's result or lack of result... definitely just because of it's overall importance.

Already the leaders who will convene next month are telling us that new decisions cannot be taken as there is not enough time to organize the right ideas, draft the treaties and build consensus. While many despair at a repeating pattern of disagreement and division, prevarication and delay, others have given up hope that anything significant can be done at such gatherings of the so called movers and shakers.

Getting the flash to properly flash on all DSL bandwiths, even those with moderate speed and keeping the level of quality envisaged.

The Titanic Syndrome

In the logic and spirit of the film documentary 'Home', which came out earlier this year, there's now also 'Le Syndrome du Titanic' - the Titanic syndrome.

It's the newest documentary film from Nicolas Hulot, the famous French nature film maker and & Jean-Albert Lièvre - for the moment in French only I think.
Yet another call for a change of direction, based on a shift in consciousness.

A good sample of what's going on in people's minds these days - or with Reuters' quotes:

The titular syndrome is simple: Our planet is the doomed oceanliner, and we -- in the West, at least -- are all busy leading our more-or-less luxurious lives as we sail toward cataclysm. It's obviously not the first film in recent times to put forward the case for safeguarding Earth, but it promises to look at the issue from a bold perspective.

"We're at a crossroads of crises: An energy crisis, a food crisis, an economic crisis," Hulot observes. "We have to look at ourselves as we really are. Our model is not sustainable. It's this model, based on competition and accumulation, which is the source of much disorder. We have to change and everyone has to be part of that, including those in the developing world."

Vegetarian days for world change

Since quite some years now the benefits of being vegetarian have become mainstream knowledge - and because of all kind of reasons more and more people worldwide have actually taken up vegetarian food in various degrees as well.

Rather new has been the linking of the idea that not eating meat actually is a significant step to reduce harmful effects on climate and the environment.
It's exactly this which inspired vegetarian organisations to promote meatless or veggie-days once a week.

In Belgian, it is the EVA vegetarian association, the biggest of its kind in the country, which started promoting a veggie day on Thursday for over a year.

The idea was actually taken up by the Municipality, and led to Ghent being the first West-European city officially promoting and sustaining its inhabitants to take up the vegetarian life style for one day a week and thus helping the planet.
support Meat for Monday Ghent's veggie day was born in May this year and actually got world wide coverage.

In the US and the UK a similar project has led to so-called 'Meatless Mondays' -
that project also got into mainstream this summer thanks to several celebrities, and especially also Paul McCartney officially endorsing Meat free Mondays -

Abraham-Hicks

Through a friend who sent me a couple of CDs from Abraham-Hicks on the Law of Attraction, I got to listen to one of the better speakers and teachers on Consciousness I've heard already.
To the point, practical spirituality brought in a freeing, humorous and inviting way.
Actually Esther Hicks, who gets her "inspirations" from "Abraham", also appeared on the first version of the famous The Secret project, so you might, as I did, remember her from there.

How exactly 'the machinery' behind this phenomenon of "mediation", "inspiration" or "channeling" (or whatever you want to call it) works, is another pair of scissors - but the message definitely stands.
The teachings are a good example of how cultural translated, clear, understandable, non-dogmatic explanations can truly be enlightening and inspiring towards the wonderful path of self-discovery and self-management.

I intend to consciously create my own reality

Yes, of course they have a site , which is commercial and thoroughly marketeered, but you can find some broadening views and answers to questions people have through some free video clips made during the multifold of conferences they have and are doing. These alone already are quite a dose perhaps :-)

So offer yourself a break and browse to some of these highlights and insights, which are build up around the "universal laws" (and especially the "law of attraction") which got summarized as follows on their site:

playing with 22, 7, 142857 and precision

In a reflection and research on Excels precision handling, I came across this magic number 142857. From the Wikipedia definition (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/142857_(number)):

142857 is the six repeating digits of 1/7, 0.142857, and is the best-known cyclic number in base 10.
If you multiply the number by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, the answer will be a cyclic permutation of itself, and equivalent to 2/7, 3/7, 4/7 ,5/7 , or 6/7, respectively.

So in other words try this:
142857 * 2
142857 * 3
142857 * 4
142857 * 5
142857 * 6

But also this:
1/7
2/7
3/7
4/7
5/7
6/7

I hadn't realized that pi, or the famous 22/7 has this exact cyclic number too as decimals: 3,1428571428571428571428571428571...

22 and 7 being numbers which for all kind of reasons have always been predominant to me.
Makes you wonder ...

Souls

This is the name of a wonderful and unique exposition with black and white portait photographs (122x162 cm.) from the Danish photographer Søren Solkær Starbird.

He wondered whether the 'soul' - metaphyscial in nature - could nevertheless be 'captured' and decided to work with a group of yogi's he met in India in a lapsus of 4 years time.
I find the result breath-taking.

In the margin of mail, hoaxes and truth

Every regular internet and/or mail user knows the phenomenon: the multitude of email messages which circle around and are not really spam (well... depends on how you see if of course, and let alone also junk, obscene etc.), which are not strictly necessary and/or professional too, nor really personal, but do land in our inbox because you're email address has landed on one of your colleague or friends email lists.
Because he or she enjoys or finds it great or useful to share that great powerpoint presentation, essential advice, not to be missed happening, or inspirational message...

It's always good to check though. As a friend of mine experienced recently with the each year coming back message about the extra-ordinary Mars position.

So ok, it's summer time after all, here a nice story which landed recently in my mailbox, and at least seems to be half true, or 'inspired on real facts' following this source: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/oneglassofmilk.htm. Well it hasn't really to do with the year 2013. Perhaps indirectly, as you'll come to see, as a symbolic reference to the times 'after' the over hyped 22 December 2012 date, the so-called Mayan 'end of time' date (or better end of the big Long Count wheel)... .

It was in 1996 indeed that I made a trip to Mexico, more precisely to Yucatan in order to visit the pyramids over there and get to know more about the Mayan civilization. I had already been aware of the concept of cyclic time, but had never gone into more depth about the Mayan approach of cyclic time.
And so it became a memorable trip, where I got to see the inscriptions in Palenque referring to a big cyclic time phase calculated by the Mayan, starting at 3113 BC (august 13th) going up to 2012 (December 22th) (dates recalculated to Gregorian time and subject of (mis)interpretation).

But what intrigued me the most, was the way the Mayan did their calculations. So through some reading and study afterward I came to realize more about their famous 13 x 20 matrix, or 'divine key', or 'universal DNA', on the basis of which all their calculations are based.
13 stands for 13 moon cycles or energies, and 20 stands for 20 sun energies or sun cycles. The Mayans were still able to capture, label and use those energies, made it the basis of their mathematics (the vigesimal system) and applied it to time calculations.

As at that time I had been introduced to the internet already, and I was looking for a domain name, I just inverted the 13:20 digits which brought me to 20:13. Omitting the colon gave me an acceptable DNS name, easy to recall and communicate (as only numbers) and a symbolic reference to the time period 'after'the current cycle which is obviously spinning to a 'catharsis'.... but also allowing lots of renewals - and that's where I see the focus and purpose of my being.
Then also, as I was and am still focused on the primary task of the net, i.e. to exchange, I didn't really envisaged a .com domain (moreover it was taken already then) and .org wasn't covering what I intended either... so besides .edu, .gov and .mil there were not really other choices then, than .net - Although completely inappropriate too, it covered the purpose however very nicely and symbolically in the keyword 'net' .

In summary

So that's how 2013.net saw the light :-)

As a summary you could say it's very much a symbolic set of digits, symbolizing a matrix code and the start of a new period or time, integrating science and meta-science, math and intuition, left and right brain, yin and yang...consciousness and matter...
a visualisation of the road ahead .

Pearls before breakfast - or the “Joshua Bell Metro” experiment

What would happen if a famous violin player starts playing virtuously some morning at the entrance of a metro station at peek hour?

That's basically what Joshua Bell, in Washington, in early 2007 - a time back indeed, but the link describing the experience landed this week in my mailbox.

A good introduction on a reflection on perception, on discernment, the spirit of the time or ... my own capacity of realizing beauty and giving it its time and space.

Learning is a self organising system

While going through some bookmarks in order to answer another post, I came across a youTube video on an experiment of an Indian education researcher showing what happens when you go to rural areas where children never touched a PC and you put one in a wall and just go away.
He actually witnessed how easily children picked up how to surf the net, how to use the PC, and how to used the internet technolgy to learn a variety of things.

A nice watch and exploration on how learning is evolving. What I especially like is the emphasis on the effect of the group-factor on the learning process.

Crop Circle Time

Since many years, with peaks late July and beginning of August, the world has been witnessing this very special phenomenon of crop circles. Many appear in the UK, especially in one region, but since quite some time this mystery has expanded all over the world.

One site tracking this phenomenon year after year is the Crop Circle Connector. This year alone some very interesting formations have seen the light. They're often linked to deep symbolism, astronomy and especially the factor 'TIME', not to say 'Mayan Time' calculations.

Beyond the meaning, the authors, the art, the reasons why media and science seem to prefer to ignore the phenomenon, people testify how the circles actually DO something with them and have an effect on their consciousness.

Nature’s magic

Not sure where this comes from originally, but a nice study of the wonderful relationship between food, foodcells, vegetables and our body and body cells. One of these messages going 'wild' on the internet - not many make it further down the road after landing in my mailbox, but there are 'exceptions' to this rule :-)
This one does it under the title 'clues'.

Some time ago a friend who lives in Portugal send me some mail composition with all kind of Health Tips and insights.
Now I could just point you to the original source of the compilation, but that seems to be a mysterious 'Manikandan', somewhere in India I believe - so I couldn't pinpoint his whereabouts immediately. Plenty of people have referred to these tips, and as I especially liked the insights on the use of healthy juices, I'm publishing some of them here as well.

Time and Mind

Two mind challenging posts which fell into my mailbox this week - just wanted to share them here.

Biblical Entheogens: a Speculative Hypothesis

About 30 years ago my spiritual journey not only started off by some books on meditation (as recently elaborated in another post on Transcendental Meditation), I also devoured Carlos Castaneda’s four or five first books at the time.  As an anthropologist, he passionately researched on the nature of consciousness with the help of an Indian sorcerer and hallucinogens.
I immediately took up this link when I got this email presenting a research article of Benny Sharon in a new magazine ’Time and Mind‘ - the title is: Biblical Entheogens: a Speculative Hypothesis ; the full text can be downloaded.

A speculative hypothesis is presented according to which the ancient Israelite religion was associated with the use of entheogens (mind-altering plants used in sacramental contexts). The hypothesis is based on a new look at texts of the Old Testament pertaining to the life of Moses, suggesting that Moses’ experiences and visions as described in the Bible were linked to the use of hallucinogens.  The article has all kind of interesting links and reflections.

Schuman Resonance

I recently read an article with which I 'resonated' very well - It explained about the link between the Schuman Resonance and the changes we're currently witnessing.

The Schuman resonance stands for the electromagnetic waves caused by the lightning bolts in the earth's atmosphere and oscillating at very low frequencies, thus creating a kind of 'pulse', or heart beat of the planet earth. There are all kind of Schuman oscillations, but the 'main' wave pulses somewhere at 7.8hz - However, that resonance has been slowly increasing since 1980 and more significantly since 1997 - we now seem to have attained 12Hz and it is expected to reach its peak at 13Hz, which some traditions and prophecies describe as the 'zero point'. At this point of quantum leap, all kind of changes are to be expected... and all kind of interpretations and prophecies exist on the matter, including a shift of the earth's poles.

Now hold on - we are of course witnessing massive ongoing changes on all levels, but one of the most common experienced feelings - even by people with no interest whatsoever in terms of spirituality or consciousness - seems to be the 'acceleration of time'. Don't you?
Sure a day is still a day, but it just makes lots of sense : the biorhythm of the earth must have an effect on us all of course - if earth's 'inner clocking' resonates faster, it seems logical this will affect our perception, but also our 'inner clocking' ...

After some small research on this other layer now surrounding the planet - the internet - I found this valuable resource of research by Jack Houck. This engineer and researcher of paranormal phenomena (like psychokinesis, his main interest) has published some very interesting articles on his website. One of these articles deals with his research on the Mental Access Window, the frequencies through which people have 'remote mental access' . He witnessed a correlation between the Schuman Resonance and EEG measurements, leading to the idea that our brains try to 'harmonize' with the earth's Schuman Resonance.

Amazing correlations. Amazing insights.
Something deep within me has always felt this way.

Something deep within me also feels that our conscious creative transformation of our mind energy, bringing it into high, pure and positive levels, not only has a huge impact on our immediate environment, but also on matter and earths' resonances - the Schuman Resonance seems to provide further explanation.

Are you amazed?

This is a question I love asking myself.
One of the biggest wonders to me seems our capacity to be amazed - at each moment actually there are occasions presenting themselves to us to practice this extra-ordinary state of mind.
Or should I say: ordinary state of mind?
Because isn’t this one of our original innate characteristics which we have lost so that we now classify it as extra-ordinary?

Just some thoughts which came up and which I can share through this wonderful medium of the internet, as I got one of these famous pps mails with a link to the work of a very young Belgian author, Kris Verburgh, writing about ‘Amazement’ - indeed truly amazing what the force of youth can do.
His work is in Dutch though, just as most of his blog about the wonder of science and philosophy, but the translation of Amazement is truly beautiful : ver-wondering - i.e. seeing the wonder in everything.

Maharishi Yogi

Today I read the news of Maharishi Yogi’s passing away yesterday.
Doesn’t ring a bell to most people. But when you say : he was the Beatles’ guru teaching them meditation at the time, most people go like ‘ah...’.
I’ve never been a disciple of his teachings, but I am a meditator - a person integrating meditation in his daily life activities.

30 years ago it started - it was still a time where you were considered ‘weird’ if you told you were interested in meditation.  But that’s perhaps still a bit the case today, it depends - but times have changed on this matter for sure.
Maharishi definitely has contributed to that in the West.  But that’s not the point I want to make here.

No just a hearty thanks, as I remember so clearly that one of the very first books opening my mind on the topic of meditation was by the hand of a Dutch doctor and practitioner Drs. N.M. Wijngaards, ‘Wat is Transcendente Meditatie’? (What’s Transcendental Meditation ?).  The book describes the benefits of meditation, what it is, some techniques, but also how meditation actually contributes in world transformation. A daring concept developed by Maharishi.
And although my path took other directions, this concept has always kept on resonating within… so yes his passing away touched me and so just felt like putting the cover up here.
As a silent remembrance, honoring what greatness of a mind can achieve.

Doors of Perception

Every day is a special day.
Every day is what we make out of it - whether what surrounds us is the best or the worst, or just ordinary. Actually, especially in the case it seem ordinary.

Since many years I’ve been observing this astonishing phenomenon of cropcircles - there’s many sites around and the Crop Circle Connector has lots of material. 
This is the one which got my special attention last year: Doors of perception.  The title says it all.

Zeitgeist

A couple of months ago someone sent me a link to an intriguing video on our Zeitgeist - actually three parts on the link between Christian Xmas symbolism, on whats really beyond 9/11 in the US and the world and about how some people and institutions determine financial and world affairs.
If you didn’t knew the whole birth story of Jesus from Nazareth is not original, but was taken over from other religions and sources, and is also intensely linked up with astronomy and astrology, then you have a good reason to have a look.
If you didn’t knew the twin towers were deliberately blasted, and actually also another building and the pentagon where no aircraft actually hit the constructions, then this could be an eye opener.
And if you’re curious how the system of debt and interest is a deliberate controlling mechanism, you should definitely consider watching this.

Watched it again and although it’s a bit harsh and of course somehow ‘us - American’ coloured, an interesting, fascinating and deep documentary to better understand the call of time and how we need to use our own discernment - you need a good dose of inner resources though to be able to put things in perspective when you look at such information sources and to be able to transcend into a positive and constructive personal transformation.

Clear Thinking - Self respect

One of the secrets and magical ingredients of life consists in the fact that when you’re opening up for exploration of the truths ‘beyond’ matter - beyond the physical -, you automatically get into contact with resources and people pointing you - in subtle or sometimes very obvious ways - which road to take.
I’ve been fortunate to meet and work with one of the most inspiring lecturers and authors, dedicating his life exactly to this ‘science of the truths beyond’ and the clarification of its ‘laws’ and ‘variables’ in a very concise, comprehensible and adapted way.  His name is Mike George, based in the UK but traveling the world.
If two of his sites Relax7.com and Spiritualintelligenceunit.com offer already all kind of interesting roadmaps, his books even more.  He organises Awareness Retreats, and he also has a weekly ezine entitled ‘Clear Thinking - Weekly Reflections on Living with Love, Light and Power’, in which he ‘dares’ to speak out on topics which are actually close to everyone’s ‘inner’ being, but often wrapped up in all kinds of ‘stuff’.

Have an Average 2008 … ?

... by enjoying the ordinary to be extra-ordinary.

That’s the essence of an ‘unusual’ but interesting approach I bumped on today on Utne .
At the end of the article, there’s quite a useful exercice to ‘calculate’ the exceptional impact of a series of average days ... I’ll let you do the reading.

Map of Consciousness

A mini site with some word art, made in the time when Altavista was the main search engine around -
it was also a time when pro and contra regarding the use of frames created lots of ‘strong’ debate.  So at the time I choose frames to experiment a bit with the technique.  And it was also the very beginning when I started using of CSS ...
So a bit of nostalgia along this post I suppose :-)

Rereading the small poetic impressions on the topic of Consciousness I wrote when living in a rural area on the frontiers between Flanders and the Walloon region (that’s Belgium, in case you wonder), just gave me the feeling to link these pages back in.
They’re in French and in English, with background photographs from the region… The impressions are timeless though, so enjoy the excursion !

Synchronicity

We all have metaphysical experiences in one way or another : déjà-vu, sudden insights, clearvoyance, an inner voice speaking, sudden unexpected help, ... the list goes on.
Often they might be very subtle to notice. Sometimes they might be very striking and life transforming.
They are 3eye openers towards the logics and laws governing the world beyond matter.

A long time ago I’ve found and published this story from Deepak Chopra, a famous philiosopher, lecturer, writer and consciousness researcher.  He’s one of the many dedicating fully to the exploration of the metaphysical, having realised many of it’s principles.
I’m reposting his ‘particular’ story here, and as ‘Synchronicity’ wants, he just posted a video on his website of his lecture at the UN headquarters yesterday, so you might be interested in that too, after reading this.

Awareness

awareness and ignorence

Awareness

In the middle-point of two axis, ‘consciousness - matter’ and ‘technology - human resources’, I am able to line up my potential and activity with my mission and capable to transform ‘knowledge’ into ‘awareness’.

Ignorance

Out of my center, centrifugal forces are at work along these two axis ‘consciousness - matter’ and ‘technology - human resources’. Lining up with my mission and realizing the self become labour and hard to reach; awareness becomes hidden behind the clouds of ignorance.

Centrifugal forces

When I consider…

  • I am a man or a woman...
  • God has created matter ...
  • I exist only once...
  • our technology is the only criteria for measuring progress...
  • I am the victim of what happens to me...
  • it just happened by accident...
  • I can’t do anything about changing the world...
  • I am white, German or a Sindhi...
  • Allah, Jahweh, Shiva, God, .... are separate beings...
  • Paradise, Atlantis, Bahist or Golden Age is a fairy tale...

Centripetal forces

When I consider ...

  • I am incorporeal...
  • matter is eternal and transforms constantly...
  • I am eternal ...
  • our change of consciousness and values are signs of real progress...
  • I am the creator of my reality and life situation...
  • nothing happens by accident...
  • I can change the world by changing in myself...
  • I am beyond name, cult, colour or status...
  • Allah, Jahweh, Shiva, God .... are One and the same...
  • Paradise, Atlantis, Bahist or Golden Age is real but different for everyone ...
